The Impact of the Digital Economy on High-Quality Development: An Analysis Based on the National Big Data Comprehensive Test Area

This paper takes the establishment of big national data comprehensive experimental area as a quasi-natural experiment, selects balanced panel 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and cities (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan) in China from 2011 to 2019 research object, adopts multistage DID model evaluate impact digital economy on high-quality economic development. We found that has significant role promoting The PSM-DID, placebo test, robustness test modified settings also confirmed this conclusion. heterogeneity analysis significantly improved quality development eastern region regions with better institutional environment, but not central western poor environments. mechanism showed mainly by improving regional innovation ability stimulating residents’ consumption. spatial spillover effect had incentive improve neighboring regions.
